SGSH is back! Just like last year, this event will feature a list of tasks that teams will complete to earn points. The teams with the highest scores at the end of the hunt will win vaguely attractive prizes! Oh, and we may give out prizes and gifts for random other things as well, just because. The event will be held on Saturday, December 2nd from 1:30-6:30 p.m., and the starting point of the hunt is at the posted coords, in front of the exit to Raffles Place MRT Station.
If you don't want to participate in the hunt, you may still log this event by signing the logbook at the start time. However, it will be officially on the record that you hate fun :D
What are the rules?
- You must sign up in teams of 2-4. If you're an individual, you should arrange to team up with other cachers, or with muggle friends. This year, you'll earn 5 points for each cacher with < 100 finds, and each muggle friend in your team! That's up to 20 points before you even begin!
- You CANNOT split up for the duration of the hunt.
- Once the hunt has started, you're free to roam wherever you wish to complete the tasks (as long as you remain together as a team).
- The event will begin at 1:30 pm. At that time, we'll hand out a list of items that you have to find, and off you go!
- Bring us as many of the items as you can by 6:30 pm. You'll receive a number of points (specified on the list) for each item you bring us.
- Unless otherwise specified, you are not allowed to spend money to obtain any of the items.
- To get around, you may walk/jog/run or take public transport (bus or MRT). You may NOT use any private transportation (car, scooter, bicycle, skateboard, roller blades, Segway, etc.). You may NOT use taxis, Uber, Grab etc.
- Don't be late to return! You will be penalized for every minute you arrive past 6:30 pm (according to our phone clocks)
- Please be honest people and good sportsmen....and above all, have a great time!
Do I have to pay to enter?
The hunt is freeeee!
Do I need any special equipment?
You'll need a camera/video camera for some of the tasks. Handphone camera works fine. You will also need access to the Internet to complete some of the tasks.
I'm new to geocaching...can I still join you?
New geocachers are especially welcome. If you are a muggle or have fewer than 100 finds, you will automatically earn 5 bonus points for your team! None of the items require you to have found caches previously (although they may assume some knowledge of geocaching).
How many roads must a man walk down?
It depends...roads taken, or not taken?
