Stop in and visit with nature at the Buena Vista Audubon Nature Center on the lagoon off of coast highway as you enter Oceanside. The gates are open for parking Tuesday-Saturday 10-4, Sunday 1-4. You can visit and walk the lagoon trail anytime and park on the entry driveway.
The lagoon is the only freshwater lagoon in Southern California and is a winter retreat for migrating ducks and other waterfowl. Take time to walk the short trail around the pond at the back of the parking lot. You never know what you'll encounter.
