This is a interesting hike which will along one of the most stunning and quiet places on the Great Wall.
This hike way from Jinshanling to Gubeikou is one of the best sections of the wall the can be done in a day trip from Beijing. Since the Simatai Great Wall was closed at 2011's we lost that famous hike way that from Jinshanling to Simatai.
In internet many peoples said this walk way is claimed to be 5-7 km long and anyway you should estimate 3-5 hours walking along the wall so I think is shorter. But at least we walk more than 7km and 6.3 hours because we have to go around to avoid the military area.
Close to Jinshanling and Gubeikou the wall is not renovated and gives and original experience. After the halfway point you may have large sections of the wall all to yourself.
Cache is well hidden, keep it like that and make sure you are unnoticed when logging. The cache near from Gubeikou（ Panlongshan Great Wall） and you can take 2 hours go to there but then you will miss the hike.

从金山岭沿着长城走到到古北口是一段非常棒的徒步旅行。最早驴友们是可以从司马台长城开始这段旅行的，但是在2011年夏天，司马台长城开始进行改造，管理方封闭了司马台到金山岭的长城路线，这段著名的徒步旅行路线就此消失。不算坏的消息是，驴友们依旧可以从金山岭走到古北口。
在互联网上，驴友们说这段旅程大约是5-7公里长，估计3-5小时能走完。但在2015年秋天，我们从金山岭长城的砖垛口走到古北口城楼遗址时，大约走了超过8公里，用时6小时，其中为了避开军事禁区，有大约2.5公里离开了长城，从山脚下沿着小道前行。
你也可以从古北口附近的蟠龙山长城上来，然后步行花上1个半小时走到二十四眼楼来寻找这个cache。但是，这样一来你将会错过一段精彩的旅行。
