Geocache Description:

The cache is a cylindrical plastic container hidden in a rocky crevice at Coral Bay.

Pangkor Island is a relatively small island with total surface area of about 8 km⊃2;. It was previously a favourite refuge of fishermen, sailors, merchants and pirates. Pangkor's economy was once reliant on fishing, and fishing and dried fish products are still a major industry for the island. The famous satay fish originated from here. Although Pangkor is not as well-known as Penang, Langkawi, and Tioman, it can get very crowded on weekends and on public holidays. It has some of the west coast's prettiest and most tranquil beaches, authentic Malaysian fishing villages that have changed little in 50 years, and some great local food, especially the seafood.

Coral Beach, just north of Teluk Nipah, is arguably the best west coast beach, with clear emerald-green water. The beach is quite large and not crowded. Ideal for swimming, sunbathing or watching the sunset. Look out for the oriental pied hornbills which are aplenty in Pangkor. However, please do not feed the monkeys and discard your litter properly.

From the beach, take a walk to the Lin Je Kong Temple. From there, you can make your way to the cache. Don’t forget to stop and enjoy the view of Nipah Bay, Mentanggor Island & Giam Island in the distance.

The cache is a cylindrical plastic container, hidden under rocks in a rock crevice of a huge boulder. BYOP to log your visit.

HAPPY GEOCACHING!
