] Biserica lipovenească Adormirea Maicii Domnului este o biserică a creștinilor ortodocși de rit vechi (ruși staroveri), comunitatea lipovenească din Iași număra în anul 2009 aproximativ 300 de persoane.
Primii lipoveni (ruși staroveri) au venit în Moldova pe la jumătatea secolului al XVIII-lea, fiind alungați de către ruși din cauza faptului că s-au opus reformei bisericești inițiate de către țarul Alexei I (tatăl lui Petru cel Mare) și de patriarhul Nikon al Rusiei (1652–1658). În Iași, lipovenii locuiau pe malul Bahluiului, la vale de Curtea Domnească. Comunitatea rușilor staroveri și-a construit în anul 1780 o biserică din bârne cu hramul Adormirea Maicii Domnului, pe malul drept al râului Bahlui.
În decursul timpului, biserica s-a deteriorat și a fost refăcută din cărămidă în anul 1830, dar turnul și clopotnița au rămas tot din lemn. În anul 1866, biserica a ars într-un incendiu, împreună cu toate cărțile care se aflau acolo. Pentru a asigura continuitatea slujbelor în perioada reclădirii bisericii, a fost construit Paraclisul Sf. Apostoli Petru și Pavel care mai este folosit și astăzi. Între anii 1872-1882 s-au efectuat lucrări de restaurare și extindere a locașului de cult al rușilor staroveri, după planurile arhitectului român Ștefan Emilian (1819-1899). În urma rectificării albiei Bahluiului în zona municipiului Iași, din perioada 1911-1913, Biserica lipovenească se află pe malul stâng.
În anul 2006 a fost întocmit un deviz de restaurare și consolidare a bisericii. Parohul a dorit sa păstreze autenticitatea și a cumpărat din Ucraina tablă din inox bombardata cu ioni de titan care îi dă aspectul auriu, în stilul bisericilor rusești. Biserica lipovenească din Iași era a doua biserică din Moldova care avea acoperișul în acest fel, după Biserica Sf. Arhangheli Mihail și Gavril din Cajvana (Suceava). În Evul Mediu, Biserica Sf. Trei Ierarhi din Iași a avut dantelăria exterioară suflată cu aur de sus până jos. Biserica lipoveneasca este singura din Iași cu șapte turle având în vârf câte o cruce tăiată (specifică cultului rușilor staroveri). În biserică se poate intra de pe trei laturi: pe latura vestică intră femeile iar pe latura sudică intră bărbații. Hramul bisericii se serbează de Sf. Maria, la 15/28 august.
În curtea bisericii, lângă peretele altarului, se află o piatră funerară cu inscripție în limba rusă, fiind așezată deasupra mormântului lui Nikolai, copilul negustorului Rodion Popov din Focșani, decedat în 1854.

] Lipovenian Church 'The Assumption of the Mother of God' is a church of old Orthodox Christians (old Russians), the Lipovan community in Iasi numbered in 2009 about 300 people.
The first Lipovans (Russian rulers) came to Moldova in the mid-eighteenth century, being driven by the Russians because they opposed the church reform initiated by Tsar Alexei I (the father of Peter the Great) and the Patriarch Nikon of Russia (1652-1658). In Iasi, the Lipovans lived on the bank of Bahlui, in the valley of the Royal Court. The community of the ancient Russians built in 1780 a beamed church dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin, on the right bank of the Bahlui River. Over time, the church deteriorated and was rebuilt from brick in 1830, but the tower and the bell remained all wood. In 1866, the church burned in a fire, along with all the books that were there. In order to ensure the continuity of the services during the rebuilding of the church, the Chapel of St. Apostles Peter and Paul was built and is still used today.
Between 1872-1882 there were works of restoration and extension of the cult of the old Russians, according to the plans of the Romanian architect Ştefan Emilian (1819-1899). Following the rectification of the Bahlui riverbed in the area of Iasi, between 1911 and 1913, the Lipovan Church is on the left bank. In 2006, a church restoration and consolidation bill was prepared. The Paroh wanted to preserve authenticity and bought from Ukraine stainless steel sheet bombarded with titanium ions, giving it the golden look in the style of the Russian churches. The Lipova Church in Iasi was the second Moldavian church that had the roof in this way, after the Church of St. Michael the Archangel and Gavril of Cajvana (Suceava). In the Middle Ages, the Church of the Three Hierarchs in Iasi had the outer lace lined with gold from top to bottom. The Lipova Church is the only one in Iaşi with seven towers with a cross cut (specifying the cult of the ancient Russians). There are three sides to the church: the women are on the western side and men are on the southern side. The feast of the church is celebrated by St. Mary on August 15/28.
In the courtyard of the church, near the wall of the altar, there is a funerary stone with Russian inscription, being placed above the grave of Nikolai, the merchant's son, Rodion Popov, of Focsani, deceased in 1854.
