Bunker Hill, Where Everything Began
The Battle of Bunker Hill was the FIRST pitched battle the New England soldiers faced the British Army. You can read more about the battle and the monument on the National Park Service website
I moved to Boston in 2010, and it has been like a second home to me. When I FIRST came here, I attended Bunker Hill Community College for a short period of time. I remember looking at the monument on the T and during lunch break.
This is my FIRST event (and first cache) ever since I started geocaching in 2012. Although my first find is nowhere near Bunker Hill, I thought it would be nice to have my FIRST event near the FIRST school I went to, and at the site of FIRST battle.
About the Event
I’m going back home to Taipei, Taiwan for a visit the week after this event. I would like to give some local cachers a chance to drop off some trackables that like to get some mileages, and it’s always nice to meet traveling cachers in the area if there are any. This event should be nice and short with the optional of some post-event caching
Tentative Schedule:
12:30 Meet at the statue, drop off trackables, and sign the logbook
13:00 Group photo, and the event ends
13:15 (optional) Let’s get the Virtual (GC7B809) – if conditions permit.
14:00 (optional) Post event caching
You can sign the logbook anytime on the 28th you see me in the Bunker Hill Monument area, even on top of the monument. However, you may not log as Attended unless you sign the physical logbook (This is not a requirement anymore, but I would prefer you signing the log).
2 Hour Street Parking
This event, the Lodge, and the base of the Monument are wheelchair accessible. The top of the Monument is NOT.
See you there!
