Hol er en kommune som ligger i Hallingdal i Buskerud. Den grenser i nord til Lærdal, i nord og øst til Ål, i sør til Nore og Uvdal, og i vest til Eidfjord, Ulvik og Aurland.
De fleste innbyggerene bor i tettstedene Hol (319) og Geilo (2 459) samt stedene Hovet, Ustaoset og Haugastøl.
Hol er en typisk fjellkommune der 91 % av arealet ligger over 900 moh. Hallingskarvet (1 933 moh.) er høyeste punkt i kommunen. Laveste punkt ligger på omkring 445 meter over havet.
På vei sørfra langs fylkesvei 40 passeres bygda Dagali, som har Buskeruds eneste flyplass, Dagali lufthavn. Videre i passeres Skurdalen og Kikut før man kommer til Geilo, som er den mest kjente bygda og et av Norges mest populære vintersportssteder. Riksvei 7 går videre vestover i kommunen, forbi andre kjente steder som Ustaoset og Haugastøl, før den fortsetter over Hardangervidda ned mot Vestlandet.
Østover fra Geilo går riksvei 7 gjennom Kvisla før den når knutepunktet Hagafoss. Fra Hagafoss går fylkesvei 50 vestover og passerer kommunesenteret Hol og så Hovet før den kommer til Sudndalen og Strandavatn, som er siste utpost før høyfjellet.
Fra Hagafoss kan man fortsette østover ned Mogrenda og til Kleivi, som er på grensen til Ål. I Kleivi ligger også kommunens eneste næringspark.

Hol is the largest of the 6 municipalities in the area of Hallingdal. The other municipalities in Hallingdal are: Ål, Gol, Hemsedal, Nes and Flå. The entire area has approximately 20.000 inhabitants.
General information.
Hol is situated halfway between Oslo and Bergen and has 4.700 inhabitants. The town centre is Geilo where you also will find the Service Information Office for the municipality. Hol has several small town centers including Hol, Hovet, Ustaoset, Haugastøl, Skurdalen and Dagali.
91 % of the area in Hol is located more than 900 meters above sea level. Therefore, hiking, mountain climbing and outdoor activities are extremely popular here - both summer and winter. The primary employer, besides tourism, is the tool making industry. Geilo has a long tradition of making quality tools, cutlery and knives. Farming has also been a traditional industry, especially sheep and cattle.
There are 5 schools and 7 nursery schools (kindergarten) in the municipality. One of the schools is located in Geilomo Barnesykehus – a hospital for children with asthma and allergy problems.
