Mandy Lake Parking (Mark II) replaces a former hide near this parking spot. Just past the gate, you're presented with two choices, a road heading southeast to Mandy Lake and a pond-side trail that eventually heads north and leads to oh so many other Ministik adventures - some including Dragons, if that's your thing.
Thinking the first incarnation of this hide was missing, when I arrived today I fully intended on simply installing this Mark II edition. But wonders never cease: that previous hide wasn't actually gone; it was just “missing” (to me anyway) under a bunch of bark and leaves. Even so, I decided to switch out the container and change the hiding spot.
To me, the biggest thing about this hide is that its a MICRO! I’d long sworn to never, ever hide this size of container, especially out in the country where there’s plenty of room for larger sizes. I have little fondness for micros since I'm so very poor at finding them.
I did hold out for quite a while: in fact, exactly 11 years and 24 days; that makes 4042 days in total since I started caching.
But since candlelightforge, a Saskatoon cacher and hider of quality caches, has been sharing ready-made “Wood Tick” cache containers to re-hide, both in caches in Saskatchewan (where I picked this one up) and in Alberta, I couldn’t resist using one for this hide. The way I look at it, it's one less micro for ME to find!
I definitely hope you don’t get “ticked off” finding this cache.
