This is a series by the Palm Coast Historical Society recognizing significant sites that are historically relevant to the growth of the city, its people, and future development of the city of Palm Coast.
The first nine holes of the Palm Coast golf club opened in September 4, 1971. It was adjacent to the first residential homes build in Palm Coast at Casper and Cooper Drives off Clubhouse Road. The Bill Amick designed course was completed a year later featuring a 19th hole restaurant that looked like a paddle wheel riverboat. The course was later renamed the Palm Harbor Golf Club.
