This series is designed to familiarize new geocachers with the locations where caches are frequently placed and the types of containers that are commonly hidden.
A structure often used to conceal a cache is the lamp post. The most common spot for such a cache is under the cover or skirt at the base of the lamp post. Hence such caches are often referred to as lamp post hides (LPH) or lamp post caches (LPC). Usually, the container is simply placed under the lamp skirt. But it can also be attached to the inside of the cover using Velcro or a magnet. Recently cache containers have also been magnetized and attached to the lamp posts at varying heights.
This particular cache is a traditional LPH in a parking lot.
