Geocache Description:

The walk takes you through woodland, along public footpaths and over and around Baildon Moor. It can be very wet and muddy underfoot, so walking boots or wellies are advisable! It is roughly a 15km\9 mile walk, taking 3 hours at a steady pace to complete without finding any caches, so 5+ hours to complete the series and find all 17 caches, if you are lucky! Of course it can be done much faster if you want a challenge!

Geocaching has brought me and my family much pleasure over the years, so I thought I would create my own series around the countryside where we live. I have called it The Baildon Series and each cache has a musical themed title which gives a hint as to what the cache container might be or where it might be located. The containers vary from tubs and film canisters to very sneaky camouflaged containers that will be a bit more challenging! The route includes 17 caches and can be circular, or it can be done in stages as there are various places to park, all within walking distance of the caches. Please be mindful of the weather as the terrain is very steep in places (It has taken several attempts to place the caches due to rain, snow and ice!) Do not just follow your compass, please follow the instructions and be safe! The series could be started from BS 9 Purple Heather as there is a car park on Glovershaw Lane or park in one of the parking places on Glen Road and start with BS 15 Up the Junction. This first cache is off the path, to the right. You are looking for a small pot, smaller than a film canister. We hope you enjoy completing the walk as much as we have creating it. Happy Caching!
