Geocache Description:

Lone Tree Road is about a 4 mile gravel road in Plymouth County, Iowa between Sioux City and hinton, Iowa that connects Plymouth County Hwy K22 to State Hwy 75.

It is unknown how Lone Tree Road got its name. There are trees along the road. Perhaps at one time there was only one. The large trees are on private property. The smaller trees are on along the public right of way which is where the series of geocache's are placed.

Lone Tree Road travels through part of the beautiful Loess Hills. The views during any time of the year are can be spectacular, especially right before sunset in the fall when the gold, brown and red colors are lit up by the sunlight in the west.

The original series was created in 2012 and 2014. They number LTR 2 to LTR 6, LTR 8 to LTR 9 and LTR 11. It is unknown if there ever was an LTR 1, LTR 7 or an LTR 10. These new cache's are filling in the gaps of the number sequence along Lone Tree Road. The CO of this cache has the OK from the CO of the other cache's in the LTR series to add these new ones as he does not intend to do so.
