The Nelson County Wayside is the only rest stop on US 29 between Charlottesville and Lynchburg. It is a well maintained area with picnic tables and plenty of room to walk your dog or play frisbee and unwind from being in the car. Off in the corner is a short path to the side of the river, where it is a calm and restful place to sit. I’ve seen an occasional pole in the water, but have no idea how the fishing is. This is one of our favorite spots to consume Dr. Ho’s Humble Pie (GC5E231) when we can’t wait to get it home!
The cache itself is a small medical grade container that held humidity sensitive items, so I expect the seal will keep moisture out well. If not, please post a needs maintenance and I will come up with a new container. It’s a micro with nothing but a log, so bring your own writing instrument. I was able to squeeze a minion key ring into it for the FTF.
