Geocache Description:

Heversham Head is a beautiful view point with some glorious rocks on display!  A stunning view can be found at the top of this gentle hill. Pick a nice day to enjoy the delights to their fullest!

This cache is most easily approached from the parking on the back lane, see waypoint, enter the grass hillside via the footpath, head up the slope, through the gate and then follow the arrow.  Just a bit further up is a Trig point, then a ten year old cache, plus a bench and millenium monument to enjoy the view of the Kent estuary, Whittbarrow and the central fells.  See: GC10Z96.

It is also a pleasant walk up from the village, start near the church.  Or come up from this one: GC3R5G9 a simple walk up from the playing fields. Can also approach via the woods on the north side of the the hill as they are now accessible and some small pathlets and 'home made' mtn bike trails are present.  Heversham Head is one of the best viewpoints in the area, with great views from the central Lakes, Whittbarrow, down the estuary to Arnside, around to Farleton and Scout Hill, with Inglebororgh in the background.

Enjoy the views - go on a nice day!!  In this small rocky area there are 3 rock types present: limestone, mudstone, and sandstone. Please be careful when rehiding, don't rest heavy rocks on the plastic bottle.
