#4 Another piece of Hebron. This is a five cache series identifying the locations of the almost forgotten city of Hebron, Texas, or the little town that would not die!

This cache was here before but had to be removed due to the construction but like the Phoenix but like Heborn which refuses to fad away it is back again in a slightly different location. You are now standing in another surviving part of Hebron identifying the location of the almost forgotten city of Hebron, Texas, or the little town that would not die! There is really nothing I can find of importance that happened on this spot. From the road facing east is the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad track. To your south a half mile for so is Hebron High School of course named after the town. Sadly it seems the high school, the Hebron Baptist Chruch, and the street named Hebron are the only places you can find were Hebron is mentioned.
If you want to know more about the history of Hebron than anyone has a right to know look up the cache Where In The Heck Is Hebron ,Texas #1 containing a picture of the historical marker located in front of the church.
Other significant Hebron dates are:
Original settlement circa 1843.
1890: Hebron got their own post office.
1902: The Red River, Texas and Southern Railway built through the town. This was along 1st Street. In later years, this line would become part of The Burlington Northern, currently, the Burlington Northern Santa Fe
1965 Air Park-Dallas Airport was ( On Hebron Rd.) built as a public civilian airstrip within the city limits
Mid 1970: Hebron was incorporated as a city!
