This is the 1st of three caches along the beautiful Wooded Mells Valley by the side of Mells River. Before you arrive at the cache location note the waterfall flowing out of the bank on the opposite side of the river.
The cache is a 35mm container located close to the little waterworks building by the side of the river.
You may be lucky and able to park by the gate on the road at the trailhead, there is room for 3/4 cars but It may be easier to park by the village shop and Post Office at N51 14.382 W002 23.274 then walk 300 yards back down the road to the trailhead. There is the village cafe here as well!!
Although the path is firm to start with it does get uneven and muddy in winter so wouldn't recommend pushchairs or wheelchairs.
If you do all three caches it should take about an hour there and back. If you want to continue the walk the path does continue to Great Elm about a futher mile away where there is an attractive pond.
