This cache in very close to 2 historic sites in Fayette County Texas. The Breeding Family Cemetery is behind you a few hundred yards. The Breeding family settled here in 1833 and the men faught with the Texas Army during the War for Independence in 1836. Later, in 1838, John Breeding became the first sherriff in Fayette County
As a geocaching history BONUS, the first known school session in Fayette County was taught in 1834 in a log house on Breeding's land.
