Geocache Description:

My first event was Moneydork's 3rd Massive Easter Egg Hunt.  The coordinates given is where I first met rchdlyn, keewee and Team chelmo not long after I started caching.  Since then I have enjoyed many events at.

Bring along your takeaways or picnic basket to this event 5.30pm - 7pm Thursday 6 February 2014.If its too early to eat then you are welcome to drop by for a chat and sign the log. Hopefully the weather will be knd. If the forecast is doubtful a few days out alternative arrangements will be posted. What better than to take the geokids to the park for tea and a run around to burn off that excess energy while the adults have a chit chat about caching. There is a playground on the other to side of the car-park to entertain geokids either before or after you have signed the logbook.  It would also be a wonderful way to finish of a days caching along Thompsons Track. ;-)

You might like to bring along a picnic rug or a chair or two as picnic tables are limited.

Parents grandparents friends and neighbours you are all welcome with or without geokids.

Visitors to Ashburton are particularly welcome. This is an easy to find venue - travel along SH1 / West Street and turn into the park at the entrance closest to the Walnut Avenue roundabout.  Naturally as the park is criss crossed with paths you could park on any of the neighbouring roads and walk through the trees to the picnic area.

Also on in Ashubrton on Waitangi Day is the annual Multi Cultural Bite, which is becoming a must attend event in it's self for many people. There is normally an outdoor market along the East Street from Moore Street and Havelock Street right next to the Multi Cultural Bite which takes up the next block, beside the clock tower, up to Cameron Street.
