Geocache Description:

A cache located on the eastern end of Candlewood Park.

You are looking for a plastic container hidden at the extreme eastern end of Candlewood Park. Candlewood was a subdivision that was planned in the area around where the grocery store and storage complex are located, further west on Cantrell Road. There is a rock wall at the entry drive between the two places that once had letters mounted on the top saying Candlewood. Although there is no street marker there because it has been removed from the master street plan, the drive going in is still listed on some maps as Candlewood drive.Originally planned to connect with the western end of Walton Heights the subdivision was never built. I've never heard the whole story but rumor has it that the people living up in Walton Heights liked the fact that there was only one way in and one way out of their neighborhood and wanted to keep it that way. The story has been floating around for years that the developer actually built a swimming pool that was supposed to serve the people of the new subdivision and it was never opened and was eventually filled in.A guy that I used to work with spent some time trying to find it years ago but did not have any luck yet there are still people around who claimed to have seen it.Its always been a big mystery.About 5 or 6 years ago part of the land planned for the subdivision was donated to the city for parkland.
