Dry Lake is a deep depression, an example of a "karst" topography created by water's dissolution of limestone and related rocks.
You can enter the Dry Lake Trail directly down the trail from the kiosk. This will take you to Dry Lake. Along the way the park has placed beautiful signs describing many interesting points about this area. Down this trail you will cross the stream (when it is flowing) that fills up the Lake. For most of the year it is actually dry. Somewhere along the ridge the cache has been placed. The other Lake in the park is Glacier Lake, the lowest point in the park. another great place to visit while you are here.
