Off of maintained trail, rocky terrain, (sometimes) dry creekbed. Spruce, juniper, Ponderosa pine trees in area. Altitude 6328 feet. No climbing necessary, adults and children should be fine in the area.
The container is a black plastic tool box, and not readily visible from surrounding area -- you may have to search a bit. It contains a pocket bible, CD, video, a couple of hemp necklaces, a mouse pad, small plastic toy, seeds, and the logbook [Update (10/27/01): ...and some new goodies placed by visitors]. There's also a disposable camera in there so take a picture of yourself and I'll stick them up on the website once the roll is done! Good luck! :) The surrounding area is beautiful so be prepared to stick around and enjoy the scenery for a bit.
