Geocache Description:

A geocache to mark a location from which you can view, admire and photograph four of the wind turbines recently placed in the greater Loughermore area. Some people view these remarkable feats of engineering as eye-sores but for me they only add to our beautiful landscape and serve as a helpful reminder of the power of human ingenuity. I hope you enjoy these big metal fans as much as I do!

The inspiration for this cache comes from one of my favourite jokes. Tell this one to your friends and sure maybe they'll enjoy it as much as I do!

Two wind turbines were standing in a field. One asks the other,

"what sort of music do you like?" The other wind turbine replies,

"I'm a big metal fan."

How good is that?! Anyway, wind turbines seem to be popping up all over Northern Ireland and these ones were new to me since I've returned from university there in June. I've visited Loughermore a couple of times this month to scout places for a few new caches having not been out since 2011. Great to see the area being used for renewable power! While you're up, you can check out my other new cache, "Loughermore Trig Point," as well as caches by Paster of Muppets and Foxbolt. Loughermore is certainly worth a trip so hopefully a few geocaches will make it all the more worthwhile! I placed these caches in the snow, so do expect the unexpected in terms of weather when venturing up here!

Happy caching,

SonicHedgehogg
