The Whittlesey Wander (Revisited)
Once upon a time, there was a geocache called The Whittlesey Wander, created by BillHa57 but archived several years ago.
This cache took you on a tour of several sites in Whittlesey, gathering clues to the final location. This cache follows the same route but the final calculation is to a different location.
Many thanks to BillHa57 for the concept.
Follow the route round the various waypoints, gathering the following information:
Stage 1: Look for the date of the prominent building.
Stage 2: Count ALL the spikes on the top of the gates. You should be able to see the Straw Bear from here.
Stage 3: Look for a round plaque with three small circles. Take the first letter of the second word from any of these circles.
Stage 4: Stand with your back to the church iron gate. Look across the road. How many 'Letter B' signs are there on the face of the building opposite you?
Stage 5: Take the number from underneath the sun.
Stage 6: Look for a year.
Stage 7: Take all four numbers of the year.
Now, to find the final coordinates...
A = one less than double the sum of the digits from Stage 1
B = two less than the sum of the digits from Stage 2
C = the sum of the digits in the letter value of Stage 3
D = Stage 4, plus 2
E = the first digit of Stage 5
F = half the difference between the first two digits of Stage 6 and the last two digits
G = the difference between the third and fourth digits of Stage 7
H = the difference between Stage 8 and 17
