Geocache Description:

Tribute to Hooterville

Many people already know that the famous T.V. show, "Green Acres" was actually filmed right in these hills. Back then, it was considered more of a secluded location, and the locals kept quiet about the Hollywood crew.

I actually worked on the show, behind the scenes, setting up props for the "talent." If you look carefully, you can still find remnants of the great show. The old country store run by Mr. Drucker is still visible, if you know where to look. And one of Mr. Haney's old trucks is still around too.

The crew wasn't too happy about trudging up and down the hills all the time, but most of the actors were pretty good natured about it. Sometimes Hank Kimball would let us ride in his "county jeep" up the hills. Hank was really a great guy, even though he pretended to be a bumbler. My favorite cast member was Mr. Drucker. He was really a nice man, and even helped me with some of the props.

I also got to know Eva Gabor--what a beauty!

As the film crew went from place to place, I snuck out, and placed a geocache for later finding. Sometimes "Ralph" and Mr. Haney helped me placed the caches. They didn't really know what I was doing, but they went along with me anyway.

After all these years, I wonder if this geocache is still there. Can you help me find it?
