Geocache Description:

10.30 to 12.30
Saturday 16th December 2017

At my home at #4, EH48 3TR, Blackridge, West Lothian

M8 From Edinburgh take J4A and from Glasgow, J5 via Harthill

A Geocaching friend from Auckland but originally from South Yorkshire is visiting me and thought it would be great to host an official Event to swap Trackables.

Sadly, I am now temporarily disabled and currently confined to a wheel chair after surviving a head-on car crash back in May 2016. An innocent victim by the way.

The venue is my home. Four car spaces on the driveway (would the first to arrive kindly park to one side and close to the garage door or wooden gate), then 2x2 (hope that makes sense). White carpets so please remove boots on the bench by the front door. You may want to bring slippers.

Tea, coffee and canned soft drinks and sandwiches and nibbles in the kitchen. Plenty of red wine for those not driving. You'll appreciate the "no outdoor footwear" suggestion when you arrive.
Please eat the food in the kitchen. Canned drinks and latte capped coffees can carefully be brought into the lounge.

Parking

Outside my house and a couple of spaces along the road - Blairhill View. Some of you may wish to car share by leaving a few of yours on the Main Street (A89) and driving up here in one. It's a 5 minute walk from the A89.

For anyone attending that's interested, I'll email the derivations and final co-ordinates of all of my Mystery Caches and useful websites for photograph editing and a "must have" Geocaching online assistant. Unsure if it is possible to log an archived cache, but I'll provide the finals for all my previous archived ones anyway.

And how to deal with Missing Trackables - I was given this information by the highly respected Geocacher Hobgoblinkiteflier a few years ago and we should all be indebted to him.

The final locations of Loons GC75ZF7 and Calling Theyre Names GC742YM are within 170 metres from my house. Most of the Rupert caches are hidden in the nearby Blawhorn Woodlands.

Whilst here, and if you have not already found them, go for the relatively close (within 800m) Miiinee's Blawhorn Hungry Birds 5 GC4T518 and Blawhorn Hungry Birds 6 GC4T51Y I understand that both require fresh logs sheets.

I am gifting "Geocaching first aid" packs to all that attend: A self sealing bag containing a waterproof log sheet, silica gel sachet, pencil and pencil sharpener. Many thanks to Dwarferk23 and Danale for helping to compile these on Friday 15th December. Due to other commitments neither will be attending the event.
Hope that someone will replace logs at Miiinee's above caches.

M111NEE was the regristration number on the first car he bought. Reckon he'll be on the Islay ferry as we're tucking into the smoked salmon sandwiches, up to eight different cheeses, stuffed olives, pineapple chunks, crisps of several flavours Twiglets and Hula-Hoops.

Happy for your dog to snuffle around in the secured back garden but any poo must be removed !

Leadhills' Geocacher N0hope is bringing Geocoins to discover, swap and sell from his Geocache Land store.

Suggestion

Anyone that'd like their personal Trackables and Geocoins 'discovered' at the event are welcome to email me their codes in advance but a full list will be posted to all attendees after the event. I'd actually appreciate a list in advance !

My next door neighbour is the renowned wildlife artist Colin Woolf. He and his wife Jo (her excellent book "The Great Horizon" - 50 Heroes of Geography was recently published) hope to pop in for a while. My Christmas cards are from him. Colin exhibits at various shows around the UK, and always has a Prize draw to enter. Our Geocaching friends Perth Pathfinders cannot attend but they did win one of Colin's sketches last year.

Raffle at Noon

Prizes include:
2 x Unregistered Geocaching dog tags (separate winners)
1 x 75cl Bottle of premium "El Bombero" Rioja 15%
1 x 75cl Bottle of premium Côtes du Rhône 13.5%
2 x Separate packs of five of Colin's personally signed Robin 2017 Christmas cards
Several individual mystery prizes

My great Geocaching friend (who, without his assistance this Event would not be possible) Paulsky54 shall be collecting cachers names for the raffle.

Enjoy Yourself

Rupert's likely to be upstairs. He loves his head and neck being stroked but please be gentle as he'll lash out with his sharp claws if you touch the wrong bits.
