Schweizerbadet i Dalarö är den moderna arvtagaren till Dalarös gamla tradition av hälsobringade friluftsbad. De äldre baden låg på utsidan av själva Dalarön intill Lotsbryggan. Det fanns både varm- och kallbadhus. Men när dessa badinstitutioner gick ur modet under mellankrigstiden och Schweizerbadet blev så småningom den allmänna badplatsen i Dalarö.
För ett par hundra år sedan gick det in en vik utmed vägen på fastlandssidan av västra Dalarö. Medan det fashionabla badlivet växte fram i Dalarö i mitten på 1800-talet höll denna vik att växa igen och strandlinjen drog sig långsamt tillbaka. Efter andra världskriget när Schweizerdalens villabebyggelse började uppföras kunde villaområdet inte byggas ut till stranden i väster på grund av det träskområde som fanns kvar som minne av viken. I stället blev vikens nuvarande strandlinje Schweizerbadet.
Dagens Schweizerbad består egentligen av tre badplatser. En stor strand och två mindre med med en småbåtshamn emellan. Från den mellersta badstranden går en lång brygga ut till en liten holme. Undet sommartiden så fanns det tidigare även en simskola som använde sig av bryggan. På senare tid har det även tillkommit kitesurfing på området öster om bryggan.

Schweizerbadet in Dalarö is the modern heir to Dalarö's old tradition of health-free outdoor swimming pool. The older baths lay on the outside of Dalarö itself at Lotsbryggan. There was both a hot and cold bathhouse. But when these bathing institutions went out of fashion during the interwar period Schweizerbadet eventually became the public bathing spot in Dalarö.
A few hundred years ago, it was in a bay along the road on the mainland of western Dalarö. While the fashionable bathing life grew up in Dalarö in the middle of the 1800s, this bay was growing again and the shoreline went slowly back. After the Second World War when Schweizerdalens housing began to build, the area could not be built to the beach in west due to the swamp area that remained as a memory of the bay. Instead it became the current current shoreline of the Schweizerbad.
Today's Schweizerbad really consists of three bathing areas. A big beach and two smaller with a marina between. From the middle beach, a long jetty goes out to a small island. In the summertime, there also was a swimming school that took advatage of the jetty. In recent times there has also been a kite surfing on the area east of the jetty.
