They play their games in the NHL's competing and my favorite professional League the KHL(they still send their players to the olympics). Their stadium is the Minsk Arena (Мінск-Арэна - 53.9365°N 27.4829°E) with a capacity of 15,086. The team was created in 2003 and named after the previous professional hockey club in Minsk, the dynamo and since 2008 they have been members of the KHL.
Now why would a professional team in Europe have a Bison as their mascot? Turns out there is an almost identical European Bison to the American Bison. The European is a little smaller and has some minor differences, but otherwise almost identical. Belarus is also climately very similar to the great plains of the US.
