This is a hike along the Haw river. I hope people enjoy the hike whether it's your first time on this trail or 10th. All the caches should be easy to find as I only want people to see the beauty of this area, not get frustrated looking for tupperware or worse. You'll see rocky outcrops on one side and the sights and sounds of the flowing river on the other.
This isn't your average greenway or hardpack trail, it's full of rocks and roots making it important that you watch where you're going. Further south, there are some climbs to get around rocks and other obstacles. There are also a couple creek/runoff crossing that could be easy or not so easy depending on recent rains. When I hid the caches we were in need of rain and there was no water in them, but other times it has made the crossing more challenging. I'd say dogs are probably best left at home and the same for small kids.
The hides are not too far off trail, but far enough to hopefully avoid detection by non-geocachers who also use this trail. Many require extra effort to get to as a result. They all should be ok if the river is above flood stage, but maybe not apocalyptic flooding.
Most of all, have fun and enjoy the natural beauty of this area.
Getting to this cache from the trail adds 1.5 or more to the terrain. You're looking for an Otterbox knockoff container
