ONLY ATTEND THIS EVENT IF YOU ARE PHYSICALY FIT AND CAN HIKE 25KMS. The Event will be a MEET & GREET that will run from 1030 to 1100 at the GZ located on the summit of Mount Kosciuszko (Australia’s highest peak). It is important that anyone attending plan, prepare and equip themself well when attending this Event and the following Hike. Weather conditions around Mount Kosciuszko can change without warning. The event and following caches can only be reached by foot and the hike to the Event GZ plus the hike to find the additional 9 nearby caches is 25kms in total. Before attempting this hike you should make sure weather conditions are suitable. In summer, thunderstorms are common and it is possible for storms to include snow fall, especially on the higher mountains. There is NO food or drink available along the track, so be sure and take a picnic lunch and at least 2 ltr of water per person. Please remember to bring warm clothing, rain gear, sunscreen, hat, camera, GPS, comfortable shoes and personal hiking equipment. The CO will bring a first aid kit and emergency beacon. Meeting Time: 0730 (Sharp) The CO will be at the Trailhead to lead the hike to the Event GZ. The Trailhead is located at the end of Kosciuszko Road in Kosciuszko National Park. There is plenty of parking at the trailhead. Note: There is an entry fee for Kosciuszko National Park of $17 per car/per 24 hours. After the event the CO will lead the attending geocachers to find the following caches: GC7FQM7 / GC6VCRJ / GC26E4 / GC5EK3D / GC5EK3B / GC5EK3J / GC5EK3A / GCNEFX / GC1YH53 / GC5EK3N.
