Saturday, January 27, 2018. 11:00am - 11:30am
Rutgers Geology Museum
85 Somerset Street
New Brunswick, New Jersey 08901
It's January, that means it's time to have a quick Geo-Nerd feast at the Rutgers Geology Museum! Luckily for those who like souvenirs, you will be able to not only learn something new today, but also get brand new souvenir, as this weekend has been named Australia Day by Groundspeak. As an added bonus, I will try to dig out some info about geology of that specific continent and bring it with me in form of flyers.
In extended Flash-Mob style, let's meet at 11:00am at the Geology museum. While the event is schedule for 11 - 11:30, it is very likely that I'll be there for closer to an hour. The museum is small, but it jam packed with lot of interesting things related to New Jersey Geology, including fossils found in New Jersey, dinosaur trackway from Towaco, NJ, a fully articulated mastodon skeleton from Salem County, NJ. and a Fluorescent Mineral Exhibit from Sussex County, NJ. If you've never visited the State Geology Museum, you're missing one of the gems of NJ.
The posted coordinates (N40° 29.909 W74° 26.797 )are for the entrance to the Geology Museum.
Parking options should be plentiful (for New Brunswick) on a Saturday morning.
Lot 1 will be open for the Museum. Lot 8 is situated nicely between the Museum, Scott Hall. Metered parking is available along College Ave., Hamilton St. and Easton Ave.
We hope to see you there.
Please don't forget post will a will attend log, even if you only 50/50 on coming.
