Note: This cache was placed during a time when the adjacent business had a different name and a different format. So now, it's a tip-of-the-hat to days gone by. . .
Legend has it that, forty or fifty years ago while a circus was in town, a number of clever South American Squirrel Monkeys escaped into the surrounding area, found their way into the Alhambra Creek that runs through downtown Martinez and eventually formed a feral population. Word around town is that people still hear strange cries in the middle of the night and a lucky few have even spotted them.
Keep a sharp eye out along the Creek. You may not only spot the cache, but a Monkey, too.
Street parking is adjacent to the GZ, and a small parking lot is across the street. All spots are metered until 6:00 PM weekdays.
(Note: The property owner has given permission for the cache to be here.)
