One day we decided it would be nice for the kids to go for a play on the beach so we planned to head out to New Brighton. When we got there the weather was awful. It was freezing cold and raining cats and dogs. The five of us (not sure why the cat had to come!) put our heads together and decided to go to an old workplace, so we headed off to Bidston observatory, stopping off at a supermarket on the way well known for its three pound meal deals!
The sat nav was really messing us about and we ended up going a very long way round and we ended up going through Tranmere and eventually past a football ground (which made the boy happy!) before going through Upton. The journey should have taken us twenty minutes but ended up taking much longer than that!!
Once we'd had a good look round the observatory which has now been converted into some lovely two bed flats, we decided to head towards the fish shop! Needless to say, we took a wrong turn and ended up going the wrong way again! This time it added on a good fifteen minutes and we ended up in all sorts of places such as Seacombe and Woodside before finally arriving in Greasby!
At the fish shop we set about choosing some new fish for our little tank at home. We spotted some lovely red tailed sharks but the fish shop man told us that it wasn't a good idea as we'd have absolutely no fish left as they would eat them all!! So we set our hearts on something else, no, he said, your ammonia levels need to be zero for that one so we had to settle for 3 Neon tetras, No Piranhas (The lad wanted them!!!) and a couple of platys to bolster the numbers a bit. Once we had bought some fish we thought it would be a good time to be thinking of heading home so, knowing the way from here, decided to not bother with the sat nav and headed off in the rough direction of Noctorum and the motorway.
As we were heading down towards home a phone pinged. A new cache had come out in the rough direction of Gayton so we headed over there to have a look. When we got to the coords we realised it was a puzzle. D'OH!! Two minutes later we had it solved so headed off to the final near Prenton Golf club. Back up the Wirral we went! Or so we thought.... having put the coordinates into the sat nav, we ended up in Rock Ferry. On checking the coords, we hadn't properly inputted them so we were off again. One mile and lots of swearing later, we headed towards Woodchurch to get to our goal, we finally had the cache in hand. We had been beaten to FTF by that rascal SirPhilPamandRob!! If only we'd put a five in the satnav instead of making silly mistakes!!
After missing out on the FTF we decided enough was enough and it was time to call it a day. After finding nothing of any note on our mammoth trip we went to West Kirkby for an ice cream (The weather had cleared up quite a lot now!) and headed home to the sunny heartlands of Cheshire!
