Geocache Description:

*Cache placed in honor of my achieved life goal 2/3. Buying a home in Wrightwood, CA.*
l
*Conratulations to Toughtread and w01f on FTF!!!*
THE AREA: Flume Canyon is certainly the path less traveled when thinking of hiking trails in the Wrightwood area. But there is a small trail here that will take you all the way to the Blue Ridge if you keep at it complete with primitive bridges and some bushwacking required. The canyon runs right along the San Bernardino/Los Angeles County line, but you will be on the San Bernardino side. It's also noted that there are Serrano Indian Burial grounds farther up the canyon...

THE CACHE: You are looking for a Large, Green Ammo can that is well hidden out of plain view. Keep in mind GPS can sometimes be off a bit when trying to connect to satellites around mountains, so you may have to do a bit of sleuthing.

PARKING: There is more than one way to approach, but the "best" way is to park at the very end of Lark Dr. which ends in a roundabout. Follow the trail to the front right. Stay on the trail past the numerous private property signs as you make your way into the dry stream bed. Either cross it to the trail or follow the river bed to where the trail crosses from the LA side to the San Bernardino side and up into the canyon.

SAFETY: Rattlesnakes sightings in the summer. There are confirmed sightings of a Mountain Lion much farther up into the canyon, so keep vigilant and young children close by. No reports of any aggressive behavior from the lion and sightings are very rare. Watch for flash floods in the canyon during storms. I intentionally left the Cache within the distance of cell towers (at least with T-Mobile), so you should always have a cell signal just in case as I intended.
I've stocked the cache with a whole host of local bought items and souvenirs!
Included in the original Cache are the following:
