G'day geocachers!
Rumour has it that Signal is enjoying summer in Australia, while we stand in the winter rain in Vancouver. But hey - we can still pretend to be Aussies for a little bit with a lunchtime meet and greet in the north plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery.
11:30-12:15pm on Friday, January 26th. (VAG North Plaza on Georgia Street b/w Howe & Hornby)
Food trucks will be in the area - in case you're hungry. Look for a geocacher holding a boomerang near a food truck specializing in Aussie meat pies. This is a thing - really. It's even on wikipedia.
An Australian or New Zealand meat pie is a hand-sized meat pie containing diced or minced meat and gravy, sometimes with onion, mushrooms, or cheese and often consumed as a takeaway food snack. The meat pie is considered iconic in Australia and New Zealand.[1] It was described by former New South Wales Premier Bob Carr in 2003 as Australia's "national dish".[2] New Zealanders regard the meat pie as a part of New Zealand cuisine, and it forms part of the New Zealand national identity.[3]
Geocaching "Where in the world? is Signal" Australia souvenir also a bonus.
