Geocache Description:

Meet from 11:30am-noon at the posted coordinates, the east side of the Husky Stadium Link light rail station.  At noon, those who wish can take a ride on the new 520 Bridge Trail to the eastside of Lake Washington and back.

The 27th in a series of events along the many mostly flat, mostly paved biking/walking trails in the Seattle area.  This time we'll be riding the new (as of December 20) bike/ped trail across the new 520 bridge (and a little bit beyond).  The route is about 5 miles one way.  Route map here: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=7187030

Per geocaching.com event guidelines, the actual 'event' is the meet-up from 11:30-noon at the posted coordinates, which is the east side of the Husky Stadium Link station.

This event is outdoors, but I will only cancel this event if the weather is terrible: heavy rain, lightning/thunder, snow or ice. Bring a waterproof layer if it might rain, and enough layers/gloves/etc to ward off any cold.

There's plenty of public transit to the start, of course.  Normally, parking in the area is free on Sunday, but there is a women's basketball game at 3pm, so this might not be true.

Information for the ride:

The trail is flat and paved.  There's a convenience store and a burger joint near the turnaround point, but you should probably bring your own lunch, drinks and snacks. If the weather is nice, we can stop at one of the viewpoints on the bridge and eat lunch.

Please show up well before noon so we can leave on time.  Check your brakes and air beforehand if you will be biking.

Participants in the optional bicycle ride hold harmless the cache owner/event organizer and assume all risks and responsibilties involved in riding a bicycle on trails and streets. Wear a helmet, dress in layers, and bring a spare tube.
