Motivo de la Singularidad Son dos ejemplares similares, de mediana talla, dado que podrían alcanzar entre los 6-10 m. La singularidad de los mismos estriba en su rareza o escasa representación en Mijas. Son árboles frutales originarios de México y Centroamérica, donde se cultivan para el consumo de sus frutos. Al igual que los cítricos pertenecen a la familia de las Rutáceas. Ambos ejemplares están ubicados en una pequeña zona ajardinada, junto a los aparcamientos de vehículos del Centro Educativo y son visibles desde fuera del mismo a través del Camino Viejo de Coín, en Las Lagunas. Why the tree is so unique Both trees are located in a small garden area, next to the car park of the primary school and are visible from the school as well as from the Camino Viejo de Coin in Las Lagunas. The two trees are very similar, and are medium height, since they could reach between 6-10 m. The uniqueness, is their rarity as they are not very common in Mijas. These fruit trees are native to Mexico and Central America, where they are grown for their fruit consumption. Like citrus trees they belong to the family of Rutaceae.

Ejemplar ubicado en el Parque El Juncal, barrio muy popular de Las Lagunas. El entorno del mismo corresponde a las condiciones propias de este tipo de equipamientos municipales. This species is typical of tropical and subtropical forests of South America. It is known for its height, which average is estimated at about 15 m. It has an exotic bark and colorful flowers.
