One of three Caches that I have placed on behalf of Silverdale School for Outdoor Education/ Forest school this one was made by our Buttertubs class as we use the woods with permission from Greenshields Farm.
Herrington Hill Woods
The woods are part of the grounds of a Georgian hunting lodge which has now been converted into a boutique hotel 'The Hideaway', originally built around 1838 for the Earl of Durham, set in 3 acres of private grounds surrounded by woodland.
Parts of Herrington Hill is now owned by Durham Wildlife Trust as its one of the few remnants of vary rare primary species rich Magnesian limestone grasslands left in the country.
This cache is just off the path underneath a fallen small section of red brick whall and hidden with leaves.
Please leave as you find and feel free to swap anything you find our kids are looking forward to see what you leave and if you can take a photo and post it please also make sure the lids on properly.
Thanks
