All Saints Church at Trythall was built through the efforts of Rev Wingfield, who was vicar of Gulval for 73 years (surely a record). Ding Dong Mine and the quarries employed hundreds of men and the population was surely much larger then. The church was opened in the 1890s and serviced by clergy from Madron and Gulval (anticipating the co-operation between the parishes, which began formally in the early 1990s). The land for the church was provided by the Bolitho family (who have had long connections with Madron and Gulval churches).
Before it closed it was run by the White Cross Mission and once held a concert with Harry Secombe as the main performer!
There is some roadside parking but please do not try for this one at peak school start and end times.
You find the cache by heading up the footpath between the church and the school and then go over the stile.
