Geocache Description:

LT:

EN:

In this place, you see an obelisk built by the Soviet occupants, called the locally-now-deceitful wrench.

The Obelisk monument built in the 1960s was targeted precisely at the site of the 18th Soviet activists struck by the Nazis who propagated and supported the future occupation power in Lithuania. In 1972, the remains of the firefighters were transferred to the cemetery of the Kaišiadorys Soviet soldiers, while the Obelisk monument remained to mark the place of their death.

The letters to the Obelisk during the construction of the facade were letters that appeared in Lithuanian and Russian: "In 1941, fascists shot 18 soldiers (some sources say15) of Soviet activists. During the Movement, these letters were peeled off and painted, no recordings were left.

But the obelisk itself remains to stand and starve everyone's eyes.

In 2017, a survey was conducted on what would have to be done with this Obelisk, the vast majority of the residents of the area agreed to its demolition, but the district authorities decided not to demolish it, and after converting a monument to a certain occasion, nothing in common with the occupants. There were even some suggestions that Obelisk would be very relevant to the promotion of local service: D

We hope that there will be no succession of this occupant in time, or it will be unrecognizably changed.
