I would like to do a series of caches that follow the Steamtown Marathon. I have run the Steamtown Marathon many time and the years I have not, I have watched it since it goes right by my house. Some of the cache hides might be places that the runners have run by and never even realized what they just passed because they are focused on surviving the marathon. 
In this series the cache name will include the approx. mile marker of the route. Therefore they can be placed in any order.
This cache is located in the playground in Vandling approx. 2.6 miles from the start of the marathon.
This is a small playground near the Vandling Recreation Park. It is located right off the Main Street. The runners are still pretty bunched up at this point and might run right by this place that many children enjoy using. There might even be a few children in the playground wondering why so many crazy people are running by their park so early on a chilly Sunday morning.
I used to have another geocache here but it kept disappearing. I was reluctant to keep replacing it only to have it disappear again and so it got archived. I still wanted to have one in here though so I scouted out another location and changed the type of hde. Hopefully, it will stay a little longer now.
The playground is only open in daylight hours, please NO night caching.
