Coos county history
Back in 1866 just after the civil war General George Armstrong Cash received orders to take command out west in Oregon. With his newlywed bride Scarlet they packed all their belongings and headed to the county of Coos. Homesteading a place just south of the town Marshfield. Shortly after arriving he sent for some of his best soldiers to expand the unit he was in charge of.
