Telido Station was used by the Spokane and Inland Empire Railroad. This electric line brought the people from Spokane and Coeur d' Alene to (near) this spot to finish the short jaunt to Liberty Lake. We found a few remnants of the station. That is what you are looking for.

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES! (but it is really, really close...)

You need to use the posted coordinates so please don't park on them! At the posted coordinates you will notice there is water water everywhere but not a drop to drink. The answer to A is how many water do you see?

You will now need to count trees because tree counting is important. Within the cul de sac (officially from yellow to yellow) the answer to B is how many trees do you count? Now double that number because more trees are good whether it is today or 100 years ago when Telido Station was in full operation.

Let's solve this puzzle so we can go hop in the lake!

The final coordinates are at N 47° 40.(069 - A) W 117° 08.(087 + B)

This cache is part of the 2018 Spokane Trains And Railroads GeoChallenge. Spokane has a strong history as a major train hub, and in many ways still is. The STAR Challenge will take geocachers on an adventure, finding caches in places significant to railroads past and present. You will visit locations featuring retired train cars, streetcar rails, bridges, graves and rail yards. Successful completion of the STAR Challenge is rewarded with a trackable Geocoin.
  • All caches begin with the series name STAR: followed by a location-specific name so they are easy to search. We also made a STAR Bookmark of the caches.
  • To qualify for a Geocoin, find the code word or stamp in each geocache and record it on your passport.
  • Visit STAR Challenge and get started today.
to find the challenge rules, a printable STAR Passport and map view of qualifying caches.

The Spokane Trains And Railroads GeoChallenge is sponsored by Cache Advance, and by donation from local cachers. We hope you enjoy!
