Cache Info: This is a medium sized camouflaged plastic container with a screw-on lid.
This is one of the best locations to take a photo of Mountain Lake.
Old Castle Corporation built Mountain Lake just prior to 1990 to support a proposed quarrying operation. Strong opposition to the proposal led to an agreement with DeKalb County not to quarry at that location.

In early 2012, the county acquired the lake and adjoining property for addition to Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve. At some point, the lake was stocked with bass and bream. Access for fishing is via the Mountain View Trail.

Park at the Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve’s South Parking Lot on Klondike Road. Take the Mountain Top Trail, marked by rock cairns, to the intersection with the blue marked Mountain View Trail. Take the Mountain View Trail to the cache.
