This is a two stage multi cache in state game lands on mostly well defined trails and several vista points. Explore a new SGL trail, a benchmark and an open wooded ridge top!
I’ve always liked this ridge top. It is part of Tussy mountain and is teeming with wildlife. It is host to one of the counties four fire towers and the border of State Game Lands 118. Notice the waypoints and you will follow a new SGL trail along the top of the ridge and then (I’ve been told) it veers into the main basin of 118 which is the Williamsburg reservoir/sportsman area. Certainly lots more to explore here! This multi highlights a nice gamelands walk with a couple of vista points no matter the foliage. It’s a great place to watch a sunset and is easy to make it back to parking even after dark.
From the parking waypoint, follow the road beyond the gate to access state gamelands and the posted coordinates. At stage one you will find a small container that contains the final coordinates. Make note of the trailhead waypoint. This is a nice (and brand new) SGL trail that will take you on a traversing path below the old fire tower and very close to the final coordinates.
If you have trouble locating stage one (or opt not to) you can find the final location by projection from the nearest benchmark. A well rounded cacher such as yourself may enjoy this and should certainly visit the benchmark anyway. From said benchmark, the cache can be found 1,442 feet away at a bearing of 178.16 degrees.
SGL is clearly posted so do not stray from the road until you reach it. All state gamelands regulations apply. The final container is a painted fifty. Enjoy!
