Geocache Description:

Chain Reaction #1 – Snowflake

.

A Chain Reaction as defined by Webster’s Dictionary as “a series of events in which each event is the result of the one preceding and the cause of the one following.”

This started out as an idea for a New Year’s Resolution series to provide those some cardio to keep their exercise resolutions intact. Each stage would require a decent hike to get that heartrate up if you want. So, I started placing stages in December so they’d be published for the New Year. But my GPSr died after nearly 20 years of use and I had to order a new one. Then the weather turned dangerously cold. The kids’ activities ramped up not allowing much free time. It was just a major chain reaction of delays and thus the chain reaction series idea was born.

Therefore, in this 13-part series, each stage will contain clues to other stages in the series. You’ll need to inspect the entire contents of the container at each stage for any clues. Some will be obvious, but some may require the right TOTT to reveal the clue. It might be advantageous to review the listings further in the series as they could reveal what clues may be in each container. They are not meant to be difficult, but will keep you in the order they were intended.

This first stage will take to Squaw Creek Park in Marion, IA. After parking at the recommended area, you will need to plan your route to the GZ. This will require some bush whacking depending on the approach and time of year.

Since I forgot the clue to place in the cache for this first stage, you will have to solve a puzzle based upon signs located at the recommended parking areas for stage 1. So before you leave this area, make sure to review Chain Reaction #2 – Snowball to get the answers needed to solve these coordinates.

For a warm up to this series, I may suggest visiting the miniature 3 part version of this Chain Reaction series called PCR which stands for Polymerase Chain Reaction. You may want the hidden information to solve stage 1 of that series. ***N42 00.638 W091 42.076*** Look between the asterisks.
