One year ago today I found my first cache, Posted up by a pond. I was walking off the trails at Honeygo Park, a regular activity of mine, when I happened upon a tupperware-like container on the ground, filled with water and a seriously damp collection of paper. I was semi- familiar with caching by way of some cycling friends who were into it. Anyway, I signed the log with the pen that even then I always carried, put the container in a drier place, and went home to sign on to geocaching.com. 951 finds and more than 60 hides later, I am still a clueless cacher, but I enjoy even the frustrating DNFs and the 45 minute searches to find a container with a piece of paper in it. What better way to spend my leisure hours? Have pen and tweezers, will travel.
This is a simple cache that even new cachers like me can find, and it is a simple container with a piece of paper in it. It is about as close as I could get to the site of my first find. Some stealth is required due to the occasional dog walking its human. There is a bison tube in the container for FTF.
Congratulations to RMNedrow and DadTwins for FTF
