The 16th Annual Cache In Trash Out Weeks are scheduled for April 21 – 29 and September 15 – 23, 2018. By taking part in a CITO event during these dates, you can earn a souvenir for your profile!
Cache In, Trash Out
Cache In Trash Out, or CITO, is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Since 2002, geocachers around the world have been dedicated to improving parks and other cache-friendly places. Through these volunteer efforts, we help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources!
For the past 15 years, geocachers around the world have celebrated International Cache In Trash Out weekend annually by hosting and participating in Cache In Trash Out Events in their local area. CITO Week Events can be focused on litter clean-up, removal of invasive species, re-vegetation efforts or building trails. Together, we make an enormous positive impact. Did we mention that we also have a bit of fun while we're at it?
The Event
The event will take place on Sunday 22nd April 2018 from midday. The clean up will last for at least an hour, until 1pm.
The coordinates given are for the car park near Europe's First (GC43). From here we will split in to teams to clean up and also to plant trees! We planted trees at the back of Bray Head in 2016 and once again, we will be planting trees this time around. Even if you would prefer to be involved in litter-picking, if you have garden spades or pick axes, please bring them along as we will need plenty.
Directions
Cars can be parked free of charge at the Raheen Park car park. Please note that parking is at your own risk. Alternatively, you can park along Bray Promenade (also free on a Sunday).
If you don't have access to a car, you can take the DART to Bray and walk along the promenade to GZ (maximum 20 minute walk). The 145 bus will also leave you to Bray DART station.
