Church Micro 11789 Malvern St. Andrews
The parish of Poolbrook in 1914 consisted of brick cottages on either side of Poolbrook Road, and larger properties around Peachfield Common. St Andrew’s Church was built in 1882 by Sir Arthur Blomfield, the architect of many Great War cemeteries, in the Early English style. It was built as a memorial to Edward Chance of the Stourbridge glass manufacturing family.
I came to the common to grab a few caches and noticed this Church and no cache done so went to check it out,it was when I got closer I realized that this church had some significance to us. Flash back some 33years and this was where GEO SON was christened
The Curate had married Mrs J & I some four years earlier in Cheltenham and had moved to Malvern, so when we had moved to Worcester and Matthew was born we contacted him and set up the christening
