Geocache Description:

The cache is a camouflaged pill bottle with only a cache log. It replaces Yippee for Summer Camp at Woldumar 2 which disappeared.

Explore the natural resources found at Woldumar on 5 miles of trails through 178 acres of maple and beech woodlands, pine plantation, wetlands and tall grass prairie, snuggled along 1.25 miles of accessible Grand River shoreline. All trails are easily hiked, ranging up to 1.6 miles long. Trails are not groomed in winter but are open for cross- country skiing and snowshoeing.

Begin your trek from the Visitor’s Center – a Trail Map is available at the Visitor’s Center, at the Trail Head, and on-line for your convenience.

Trails are open dawn to dusk, 365 days a year.

A $2 donation is suggested for all non-members who wish to use the trails.

Trail Rules

Woldumar Nature Center seeks to protect a vital natural environment, not only for all the wildlife and plant species that live here, but for generations of families seeking a connection with the natural world. Please help the preservation efforts by following these simple Visitor Rules:

  1. Please deposit $2 per non-member visitor in a donation canister at the Visitor Center, parking area, or at the trail head. Membership information is available in the Visitor Center, on the trail map and on Woldumar's website.
  2. Groups of 10 or more must schedule their visit at least 24 hours in advance.
  3. Commercial photography or any other for-profit services provided on this property require a permit from the director.
  4. Pets must be leashed at all times throughout the entire property. Please remove all pet waste.
  5. No smoking anywhere on the grounds or trails, including the parking area. This includes all forms of tobacco use and e-cigarettes.
  6. Alcohol is prohibited except with a permit from the director. Do not take food and cans/bottles of beverage on the trails. Designated picnic areas are provided near the Visitor’s Center.
  7. No wheeled vehicles other than strollers and wheelchairs are allowed outside of the parking area. This includes bicycles, skateboards and rollerblades.
  8. No hunting or collecting. Please leave all natural objects in their place, including fruit and fungi. Catch and release fishing is permitted.

Carry any trash out with you after walking on the trails. Trash receptacles are available for your convenience near the Visitor Center.
  10. Cross-country skiing or snowshoeing is allowed on the trails when the snow cover is adequate.
