Welcome to the Gardens of Alto Reste Cemetery Tour!
Alto Reste Park lays claim to “Pennsylvania’s Most Beatiful Burial Estate” and has been carefully planned and cared for since 1925. This tour will lead you through the ‘gardens’ of the estate where you will see various monuments and collect information to discover the final location of the geocache, which obviously is NOT at the posted coordinates. However, the posted coordinates can be used for parking and there is an additional centralized parking waypoint if you choose to make this a walking tour.
Here are some things to keep in mind before getting started:
•NO NIGHT CACHING! The grounds are closed from dusk until dawn and will be patrolled.
•This cemetery is very active and very meticulously maintained. The tour may even have need to evolve over time.
•Please show respect and yield to other visitors and activities that may be taking place.
• Paper and pen may prove extremely useful as you make your way through the tour taking notes.
• The waypoints have been laid out alphabetically and is a reasonable route to take, if visited in order but you can take any route you would like.
• Be respectful, use good judgment and enjoy what there is to see here. Have fun!
Each waypoint is lettered and for each letter you will need to have a corresponding number to complete the field puzzle.

G = Number of benches in the arch area.
H: Garden of the Vase
On the west face of these mausoleums is an engraved quote. H = Number of letters in the name of who is quoted (Begins with ‘T’).

K: Garden of Prayer
K=The Number at the bottom right of the page on the right.
L: Garden of the Sermon on the Mount
L=The last number of the year next to the sculptors name. 195_
M: Garden of Ascension
M=Number of steps up to the engraving. NOT including the sidewalk OR the top level.
N: Garden of Valor
N=Number of block layers that make up the stone ring including the top layer blocks.
O: Garden of the Cross
O=The chapter of Mark.
P: Garden of Honor
P=Number of words on the east face of the obelisk.
Q/R: Garden of the Last Supper
Q=Number of HALF bread loaves MINUS the number of cups on the table.
R=Number of feet visible below the table.
